Teaching Kids to Develop a Biblical Worldview
Resources for Teachers & Home Educators
Why should we use secular literature when we are trying to teach our kids to view the world from a Christian perspective? Good question! First, literature does not replace the Word of God. To develop a biblical worldview, we need to use….the Bible! This is where we learn who God is, who we are, what’s wrong with the world, and God’s plan for redemption.
The study of literature gives learners the opportunity to practice applying their biblical worldview. You see, literature (a story) is about the human condition. If we can apply biblical precepts in understanding the human condition illustrated in a piece of literature, it gives us practice for applying those precepts to our own lives. We want our kids to learn wisdom in applying a Christian perspective to everything they experience.
