Community Guidelines
Lemons-Aid Learning Corp.
Effective Date: June 1, 2026
Last Updated: May 30, 2026
Our Foundation
Lemons-Aid Learning is a Christian learning community built on the conviction that every child is made in the image of God and deserves an education that honors that truth. Our mission, “Supporting Families. Equipping Learners. Serving Christ,” shapes everything we do, from how we teach to how we treat one another.
These Community Guidelines exist to protect that mission. They apply to every member of our community: learners, parents, teachers, and staff. They apply in live classes, in Canvas, in The Grove, and in any communication connected to Lemons-Aid Learning.
We expect every member of our community to act with kindness, integrity, and respect. We welcome families from all backgrounds and believe that a Christ-centered learning environment is one where every person is treated with dignity.
“So in everything, do to others what you would have them do to you, for this sums up the Law and the Prophets.” — Matthew 7:12
Embodying GRACE in Our Online Class
At Lemons-Aid Learning, our class norms are built on GRACE. These five expectations guide how every learner shows up, participates, and grows in our community.
Gritty
You have the grit to do hard things, like figuring out your tech, your calendar, and your homework. We are always here to help, too. Learning takes effort, and effort is something to be proud of. When something is difficult, push through it. Ask for help when you need it, but do not give up before you try.
“Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance.” — James 1:2–3
Ready
Be ready to learn. Be on time. Make sure your tech is updated, especially Zoom. Make sure you have the Zoom desktop application downloaded. Take your restroom break before class. Sit at a table or desk with no distractions. Being ready means your teacher can start class on time and every learner gets the most out of every session.
“Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly handles the word of truth.” — 2 Timothy 2:15
Active
Have your camera on and look at the camera. Use the Zoom chat and other features to give non-verbal feedback. Ask questions and participate. Complete homework and classwork on time. Active learners are engaged learners, and engaged learners are the ones who grow.
“Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters.” — Colossians 3:23
Connected
Build relationships with your teachers and classmates. Use email, talk in class, use the chat box, share your thoughts, and pray for each other. We are not learning on our own. Community is one of the things that makes Lemons-Aid Learning special, and it only works when everyone participates in it.
“And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another.” — Hebrews 10:24–25
Equipped
The Lord equips you with what you need and to do good works. Be a good example for all and let your faith shine. You are here for a reason, and the gifts God gave you are meant to be shared with this community.
“Now may the God of peace…equip you with everything good for doing his will, and may he work in us what is pleasing to him, through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory for ever and ever.” — Hebrews 13:20–21
Required Technology
Families are responsible for ensuring their learner’s technology is working and updated before class begins. If you need help troubleshooting, contact us at su*****@********id.com before class time, not during class.
Required:
- A reliable internet connection
- A computer, laptop, or tablet with a working camera and microphone. Phones are not recommended for attending class.
- The Zoom desktop application. The browser version of Zoom does not support all of the features your learner needs in class.
- A current web browser (Chrome, Safari, Edge, or Firefox) for accessing Canvas and The Grove.
- Third-party cookies enabled in your browser. Canvas and Zoom require third-party cookies to authenticate your learner and launch live classes. If your learner cannot join a Zoom class from Canvas, this is the most common cause. Instructions for enabling third-party cookies are available from your browser’s support page or by contacting us at su*****@********id.com.
- A quiet workspace with a table or desk.
Recommended:
- A headset or earbuds with a microphone for better audio quality
- A second monitor or device for viewing assignments while in class
For Parents
“Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old he will not depart from it.” — Proverbs 22:6
Be Engaged
- Stay informed about your child’s classes, assignments, and progress. The Grove and Canvas give you the tools to do this.
- Review your child’s work regularly. Your involvement makes a real difference in their learning.
- Ensure your child has a quiet, appropriate space for attending live classes and completing coursework.
Communicate with Grace
- Reach out to your child’s teacher with questions or concerns. Teachers welcome communication and want to partner with you.
- Contact teachers through the channels provided: email, The Grove, and Canvas messaging. Please do not contact teachers through personal social media or personal phone numbers unless the teacher has explicitly invited you to do so.
- If you have a concern about a grade, an assignment, or a classroom situation, start with the teacher directly. If the concern is not resolved, contact administration at su*****@********id.com.
- Be patient. Teachers respond as quickly as they can, but they are also teaching, grading, and preparing lessons. Allow a reasonable response time before following up.
“A gentle answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger.” — Proverbs 15:1
Support the Community
- Speak positively about teachers and staff in front of your children. If you have a concern, address it privately with the appropriate person.
- Respect the privacy of other families. Do not share information about other learners that you learn through class interactions, recordings, or community communications.
- Do not record, screenshot, or redistribute class sessions or recordings without written permission from Lemons-Aid Learning.
Supervise Your Child’s Online Activity
- You are responsible for your child’s behavior in live classes and on our platforms.
- Ensure your child understands these Community Guidelines and the expectations for their conduct.
- Monitor your child’s use of Canvas, The Grove, and any third-party tools used in their courses.
For Teachers
“Not many of you should become teachers, my fellow believers, because you know that we who teach will be judged more strictly.” — James 3:1
Create a Safe and Welcoming Classroom
- Every learner should feel seen, valued, and safe in your classroom. Set a tone of warmth, patience, and encouragement.
- Address behavioral issues privately when possible. Correct with kindness, not with public embarrassment.
- Be mindful that your classroom includes learners from a range of backgrounds, learning styles, and ability levels.
“Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love.” — Ephesians 4:2
Maintain Professionalism
- Communicate with parents through official channels: email, The Grove, and Canvas messaging.
- Respond to parent communications within a reasonable timeframe.
- Keep personal opinions about politics, controversial social issues, and topics outside the scope of the curriculum out of the classroom. Our classrooms are grounded in a biblical worldview, not in partisan positions.
- Maintain appropriate boundaries with learners and parents at all times.
Protect Privacy
- Do not share learner information, grades, behavior, or family details with anyone outside of Lemons-Aid’s authorized staff.
- Do not discuss one family’s situation with another family.
- Follow all data handling practices outlined in the Lemons-Aid Privacy Policy.
Honor Your Commitments
- Be on time for your classes. Learners and families are depending on you.
- If you need a substitute or must cancel a class, notify administration as early as possible.
- Deliver instruction consistent with the curriculum and the standards Lemons-Aid has set for your course.
“Whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.” — Colossians 3:17
Communication Standards
All communication within the Lemons-Aid community, whether in live class, through Canvas, via email, or in any other channel, should reflect our values.
We communicate with:
- Kindness. Assume good intent. Approach disagreements with humility and a willingness to understand.
- Honesty. Be truthful and straightforward. If something is wrong, address it directly and respectfully.
- Respect. Every person in this community deserves to be treated with dignity. Disagreement is acceptable. Disrespect is not.
- Privacy. What happens in class stays in class. Personal details about learners, families, and teachers are not to be shared outside the appropriate channels.
“Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen.” — Ephesians 4:29
We do not tolerate:
- Bullying, harassment, intimidation, or threats of any kind, whether directed at learners, parents, teachers, or staff
- Discriminatory language or behavior targeting any person’s race, ethnicity, disability, or background
- Gossip, rumor-spreading, or intentional damage to another person’s reputation within the community
- Retaliation against anyone who reports a concern in good faith
Academic Integrity
Lemons-Aid Learning expects all learners to submit work that is genuinely their own. Academic integrity means:
- Completing assignments independently unless the teacher has specifically assigned group work
- Giving proper credit when using someone else’s ideas or words
- Not copying from other students, websites, or any source without attribution
- Using AI tools (such as ChatGPT or similar) only when a teacher has explicitly permitted their use for a specific assignment, and disclosing that use as directed
- Not sharing answers, test content, or assignment details with classmates who have not yet completed the work
“The Lord detests lying lips, but he delights in people who are trustworthy.” — Proverbs 12:22
When a teacher suspects academic dishonesty, they will notify the parent and work with administration to determine an appropriate response. Consequences may include a zero on the assignment, a required redo, or, in repeated cases, further disciplinary action.
Attendance and Participation
Regular attendance is essential to learning in a live class environment.
- Families should notify the teacher in advance of any planned absence.
- If a learner misses a live class, the class recording is available through Canvas for 30 days.
- Excessive unexcused absences may result in a conversation with administration about the learner’s continued enrollment.
- Learners are expected to complete assignments by the due dates set by their teacher. If a learner needs an extension, the parent or learner should communicate with the teacher before the deadline.
Bullying and Harassment
Lemons-Aid Learning has zero tolerance for bullying and harassment. This applies to interactions in live class, through Canvas messaging, or in any communication connected to our community.
Bullying includes repeated behavior intended to harm, intimidate, or humiliate another person. This includes verbal, written, social, and cyber forms of bullying.
“Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.” — Ephesians 4:32
If a learner or parent experiences or witnesses bullying or harassment:
- Report it immediately to the teacher or to administration at su*****@********id.com.
- Administration will investigate the report promptly and confidentially.
- The family of the learner involved will be notified and involved in the resolution process.
- Consequences will be proportional to the severity and frequency of the behavior and may include a warning, temporary suspension from class, or removal from the program.
We take every report seriously. No one will face retaliation for reporting a concern in good faith.
Consequences
When a member of our community violates these guidelines, our goal is restoration, not punishment. We believe in grace, accountability, and second chances.
“Brothers and sisters, if someone is caught in a sin, you who live by the Spirit should restore that person gently. But watch yourselves, or you also may be tempted.” — Galatians 6:1
However, when behavior threatens the safety, dignity, or learning environment of our community, we will act. Responses may include:
- A private conversation with the learner and parent
- A written warning
- Temporary removal from a class or activity
- A required meeting with administration before the learner may return
- Permanent removal from the program, in cases of serious or repeated violations
The severity of the response will be proportional to the behavior. We will always communicate with the family and seek a path forward whenever possible.
Reporting Concerns
If you have a concern about any member of our community, whether a learner, parent, teacher, or staff member, please report it to us. You may:
- Speak directly with the teacher involved, if appropriate
- Email administration at su*****@********id.com
- Contact Karen Lemons directly for urgent or sensitive matters
All reports will be handled promptly and with as much confidentiality as the situation allows. We will never disclose the identity of a reporter to the person being reported unless required by law.
“If your brother or sister sins, go and point out their fault, just between the two of you. If they listen to you, you have won them over.” — Matthew 18:15
Changes to These Guidelines
We may update these Community Guidelines from time to time. When we do, we will update the date at the top of this page and communicate material changes to our community. Your continued participation in Lemons-Aid Learning constitutes your acceptance of the current guidelines.
