Learners can expect to have homework for some classes. Since we cover an entire semester with only two live classes per week, they will need to work on homework twice weekly to complete all of their learning.
As veteran homeschool moms ourselves, we see the value in grades, homework, and tests to prepare learners to succeed in their learning journey. We have seen learners struggle in college if they don’t learn to take tests or write essays quickly. We aim to prepare them to perform at a high academic level in their academic courses. Accountability in the form of grades, class presentations, and checking in with teachers also increases learning and personal responsibility.
High school courses meet Mondays – Thursdays in a block. Classes will begin either at 11Am or 12PM Eastern, depending on your English selection, and will conclude at 3 or 4PM Eastern.
Homeroom: This is included in all pods at no additional cost. It is here where students gather with a teacher for devotions and prayer, and then we are rotating various teachers in to explore exciting topics and subjects. These may include: Cooking and Baking Through History, Jr. EMT, Logic, Student Council, Entrepreneurship, Art, Song Writing.
English Essentials: The bedrock of all essay writing, The Essentials (semester A) and The Essentials Semester B are must-take courses for learners to establish a solid foundation for all future writing.
Real World English: Books & Beyond: Tech-Integrated English for Future Leaders (semester A) & Innovators (semester B) blend academic excellence with project-based learning. Tailored to develop fundamental ELA skills and independence, active and engaged learners complete projects, enhancing essential technology and critical thinking skills.
Total High School Writing: In one semester, master every essay required in high school! Learn to churn out high quality essays that reflect clear, coherent ideas, impactful arguments, and illustrate thorough research. This is an upper high school level course.
Literature-The Notables Book Club: In this book club, learners complete genre studies. Their first genre is Thrillers and includes the classics like Frankenstein and The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyl and Mr. Hyde, but it also includes Christian and geo-political thrillers. They meet every other week live and complete asynchronous Bible and literature work on the off-weeks.
Grammar: One of the most effective classes we offer for teaching learners how to write correctly, State of the Art shows writers how to communicate at the sentence level.
Organization: In Teens, Get Your Groove: Organize Your Homework and Life, teenagers get help organizing their lives so they can learn the skills to manage schoolwork, sports, family responsibilities, and extracurricular activities independently.
History – Government & Economics: Learners explore America’s government and critical concepts in economics. This class is often a graduation requirement, and what better time to take this class than in an election year. 😳
Science: Anatomy and Physiology. We are made in His image!
Math: Choose from Algebra I or Geometry. Learners can add on Personal Finance (Real-World Math).
Personal Finance (Real-World Math): Get your Dave Ramsey on because we are looking at math concepts and practices needed to survive in the world! This is a supplementary course to regular math course you may be taking.
Spanish: Spanish 1 focuses on highly used words and structures, allowing students to converse and understand content related to self, family, and community. Students also learn survival Spanish to meet needs when traveling in the Hispanic world.
Spanish Media: This intermediate-level Spanish elective is for students who have had a year of Spanish and are ready to have a great time watching commercials, listening to songs, and discovering how well you can listen and speak.
Bible: In Uncover the Truth: Teens Journey Through the Bible, we use Precept Ministries’ inductive approach in the following topics:
Guitar for Beginners: This Intro to Guitar Course is designed to kickstart your guitar journey! Mr. Blake’s goal is to make learning guitar fun, accessible, and streamlined for aspiring musicians. With practice, by the end of this course, you’ll be able to play full songs!

Coding & Tech: In 26 weeks, learners will complete the following courses:
Yes! Yes! We are mission-minded organization and our love for the Lord and intense desire to glorify Him drive us to do what we do. We exist to see children come to a saving faith in Jesus Christ and then to grow in wisdom and knowledge so they can walk in a manner worthy of their calling. We want them to develop an authentic biblical worldview. Karen Lemons, the founder of Lemons-Aid, is fiercely protective of the mission and puts all teachers and staff through a rigorous application process. Our teachers have professional development in how to teach with from a biblical perspective.
Yes! All of our teachers have gone through background checks, identification verification, and have training on how to keep learners safe while teaching online. We teach our learners to keep their own personal identifying information private while online. All communication between teachers and students is copied or accessible to parents. We follow COPPA policies to protect young learners while on line. Classes are recorded for transparency with parents.
We have capped the secondary classes at 16 learners. Our teachers have experience building relationships with each learner and making them feel special and loved.
To make it easy for parents, we include the cost of materials in your tuition and will send you everything you need. We will even mail you a ukulele or guitar if you need it! The only exceptions are novels for English and if your learner joins a book club. We do not mail you the books. Some parents like the Kindle version, can use the library, or already have the books. We do offer books for the book clubs as part of our special “library” that comes in a beautiful wooden crate, but this is an add-on fee.
Teachers offer helpful and frequent feedback to learners both on the work they do in class and for homework. This is done verbally, through video recordings, messages, and comments on Google docs. Our elementary learners do not receive traditional grades.
All classes are recorded and enrolled learners will have access to view those recordings.
Each class meets once per week for 45 minutes. Some of the elective classes meet for 25 minutes. Each semester is 13 weeks. We take a week off at Thanksgiving and two weeks off at Christmas. Spring Break is the week following Easter.
As we work with your child, if we think we need to do something more, we will let you know. We will give you various options and advice from things you can do at home, to additional group classes and tutoring. We want to see your child grow to love learning and to have success.
The enrollment process is quick and easy. You will follow the process below for each of your learners.
Your learner will be enrolled in each course. A few days before classes begin, you will receive a welcome letter with details on how to access the classroom. Your materials will be mailed to you before classes begin!
If you would like to pay for the entire year, you can do so at a discount. Just reach out to ask.
We have a very generous affiliate program where you can earn 10% referral bonuses from anyone you refer FOR LIFE. If someone enrolls in a semester ELA course that costs $545, you earn $54 in store credit. This can add up! Please note that the purchaser must have cookies turned on so we know they came from you.
If you live in a state that offers families ESA dollars (Education Savings Accounts), we are an approved vendor in multiple states. View our tuition help page for more information.
If you need help getting your charter school to pay for classes, contact us for support.
The learning done in this pod will properly prepare your learner for the rigors of college work. Our teachers are very good at identifying when a learner needs more challenge, and we work with the students and parents to adapt and modify the learning to meet his or her needs.
We are not a school, so we do not offer diplomas, but we help homeschool families develop their diplomas and transcripts and offer suggestions on creating special graduation ceremonies.
Schools are accredited, and we are not a school. However, we are seeking accreditation as an organization. We can help you, as the homeschool parent, complete everything you need for NCAA D1 course approvals (our courses will get approved). We also help you with transcripts. As the homeschool parent, you are the director of their learning. You do not need accredited courses to get into college.
You can contact us with more questions. We are happy to chat via email, text, or phone call. We can also pop onto a Zoom call to meet you and a group of friends.
Students meet live with the teacher and a group of students. The benefits of live courses are that students have interaction with a teacher and peers in a community. Longer (multi-day, semester, and subscription) courses offer them the ability to develop relationships with their teacher and peers while studying content that builds on previous learning such as longer-range essays, projects, and assignments with teacher feedback.
Live courses can be a:
Teacher and learner are “synced” together for learning but not at the exact same moment like in a scheduled live class (the “a” in “asynchronous!”
These are courses that give students the flexibility to work when they can, but they still have deadlines and accountability with a teacher! Learners have a teacher getting to know them, guiding them and interacting with them, offering feedback, and grading their work. The course includes video lessons, interactive activities, assignments, and quizzes. As this is an asynchronous course, there are no live classes. These courses are less expensive and very flexible, while still having interaction with a teacher.
Async Courses can be:
Students have access to curriculum or lessons and can go through them at their own pace or “on demand.” There are no live classes and students complete the lessons independent of a teacher. The benefits of the online lessons are that they are the most affordable way to experience an excellent curriculum with videos, interactive material, and quizzes. For younger students, parents are able to direct them through the learning; for older students, they can often navigate the lessons on their own.
Think of the online curriculum as an interactive, video-based, online book!
Online curriculum can be a:
Students meet with a degreed and certified teacher in a one-on-one live session. Your teacher will help you with the school work you already have or will design a custom curriculum for you. Price varies by teacher and whether your instructor is designing a custom curriculum or if you are bringing your homework for some support.
Tutoring can be:
In a subscription course, students complete lessons and/or meet on a regular basis, based on the subscription terms. For example, they may meet once per week, every other week, or three times per week. Payment is made per subscription terms, and you are not charged for weeks you don’t meet.
A Micro Lesson is a super quick lesson on one skill or concept, usually comprising of a video lesson for 1-3 minutes and an interactive activity.
A one-time course is one live meeting. It’s a great chance to try out a teacher to see if it’s a good fit or learning something in a short live lesson.
In a multi-day course, students meet and/or complete work over a period of days or weeks. It is shorter than an entire semester.
In a semester course like this, students meet or complete work for an entire semester (half a school year) or trimester (a third of the school year).
In a yearlong course like this, students meet or complete work for an entire year.
Groups are like clubs where groups of learners gather with like-minded peers to study, explore, read, talk, or play. A book club, lifegroup, or gaming team are great examples!
This is a course for adults, who have a coach and course to support them in gaining knowledge or skills. For example, our Orton-Gillingham early literacy teachers coach moms and dads who are teaching their children with dyslexia how to read. Another example is when Mrs. Lemons coaches teachers with lesson planning or classroom management, or she coaches teacher entrepreneuers in their teaching business.
Coaching can be a mix of self-paced learning, cohorts, live, webinars, small group, or 1-1.
